- Description:
- William McKinley: Bicycle Rider Cartoon Pin. Bicycling was a big craze in the 1890's. Not surprisingly, the motif found its way onto many campaign artifacts in the election of 1896. This mint condition 7/8" button shows candidate McKinley riding a bicycle "To The White House". The wheels are labeled Gold and Silver. It has a Whitehead & Hoag back paper. A Bryan mate was also produced, but the wheels to Bryan's bike fell off somewhere along the way. (see 19973b to view the back side) (Item 19973)
