- AN AMERICAN BRONZE GARDEN SUNDIAL AND CORRESPONDING HOUR PLAQUES (7" diameter each). Tiffany Studios, Corona, New York, 1920s. The central sundial circular in form, a compass rose at the center with the cardinal and ordinal directions, the triangular gnomon in the form of Pan pipes, framed by a scroll marking the hours of the day with Roman numerals, inscribed 'TIS NOW THE VERY WITCHING HOUR OF NIGHT from Shakespeare's Hamlet, with twelve disk-shaped plaques corresponding to the hours, each cast with a Roman numeral and a Shakespearean quotation relating to the hour, plus extra plaques for hours IIII, IX, and X.
