- Large Lincoln Split Rails Medal This is certainly one of the better Lincoln medals from 1860, both from a content and graphic perspective. The high-relief, half-length bust is based on a photograph by Hesler. The reverse shows split rails and contains the slogans "The People's Choice Lincoln & Hamlin Freedom & Protection." Most examples that appear are holed and display some degree of tin pest. This is unholed and the surfaces are highly reflective, nearly flawless with a light russet toning.
